Mobile food pantries are generally held on two Saturdays each month at various locations around the community. Between 7,500 lbs and 10,000 lbs of food is brought in from the West Ohio Food Bank in Lima and handed out at each pantry to 200+ families. The mobile pantries offer people an additional opportunity to receive food.
When receiving food from a mobile pantry people are asked to arrive no earlier than 7:00am. The amount of food put in each food box is adjusted once we know how many families come for help in order to ensure that everyone receives an adequate amount of food. It is suggested that those who attend a mobile pantry arrive by 8:30. People cannot save spots in line for others. Any chairs/boxes/etc., put out to save a spot in line prior to 7:00am will be removed.
If your church, organization, or business is interested in sponsoring a mobile food pantry please call the CHOPIN Hall office at 419-422-6401.
